PDF files may contain any of the eight main object types used by either end users or other computer software. This file type was created for users with disabilities who use assistive devices to navigate electronic files. PDF/UA: The “UA” stands for Universal Access and was created with technology to allow users to read and navigate the document. An example of this would be printing letters or other invitations while automatically changing out the addressee’s name, mailing address, etc. It contains additional customization features and allows users to print multiple copies of the same file while automatically making small changes to personalize each print. PDF/VT: The “VT” stands for Variable and Transactional Printing and is the newer file format of the PDF/X. This file type is perfect for printers and graphic designers.
